Teaching techniques that produce a natural, nutrient rich, self-sustaining ecological community
Modern day agriculture uses many chemicals when growing food. Our goal is to grow plants in a system that provides alternative methods of farming and teach the local communities a healthier way to grow food. This educates the farmer on how to produce nutrient rich foods while creating a mindset of stewardship for the land. With this type of thinking they see the value of wanting to care for the planet they live on. It is possible to produce HEAL-ing of the earth and feeding of the world without compromising on health.
The HEAL team provides a responsible enthusiastic farmer with goats and teaches them animal and earth friendly techniques to raising goats. These goats are raised in a system that HEALs the earth. It is called rotational grazing. This method has incredible potential to build soil which creates an environment for carbon to be pulled from the atmosphere and stored. As the animals are moved on a regular basis, it mimics nature which greatly benefits the earth. We use modern technology to assist with keeping them safe and secure. Goats are a vital and necessary food source for many cultures. They are a healthy form of protein that is very limited in impoverished communities.
A self-contained food system that uses fish manure to fertilize edible plants, growing in the water. The outcome is fresh fish and vegetables on a weekly basis. This type of system supplies communities with fresh healthy food that can provide them with essential nutrients and animal protein. The aquaponics system is built with a sustainable power source from either solar, water or wind. HEAL teaches willing individuals the skills and knowledge necessary to continually produce the sustenance that will feed their community without harming the environment.
